What we’ll expect from you once you’re here

The product manager for e-commerce will develop a strategy to create a seamless buying experience for researchers who are looking for tools and services to help them communicate their work. As we connect our mature author services business to our rapidly-growing preprint platform, we need a skilled product manager to integrate e-commerce across the two sites. We are looking for someone who can find the balance between gathering enough information during the order process to best support the customer while creating a simple yet personalized experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop a clear strategy for e-commerce across our AJE and Research Square sites
  • Ensure that our e-commerce sites run smoothly and that feedback from customers is heard
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers through market research, analytics, and user testing to create buyer personas and user stories
  • Collaborate with UX and engineering to quickly test, assess, and optimize the ordering experience to positively impact key metrics such as conversion rate and average order value
  • Collaborate with the Voice of the Customer, operations, engineering, and UX/product teams to identify internal and customer-facing challenges with our e-commerce processes
  • Keep up with e-commerce best practices, including 3rd party partnerships, to deliver a best-in-class customer experience
  • Ensure a seamless e-commerce experience across devices

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 3-5 years of product management or product marketing management experience in direct-to-consumer websites
  • Strong organization skills and an attention to detail
  • The ability to analyze data and clearly communicate data-driven decisions
  • The ability to work on a cross-functional team and enable alignment with stakeholders across the organization
  • A focus on outcomes
  • A bias toward action

Working Arrangements 

  • Relocation is not required as this position can be remote based. 
  • This is a US based role.
