Professional services at Research Square Company rely on the expertise of our highly-trained employees to help academic researchers get published, apply for funding, and promote their work.  We are looking for a product manager who understands and empathizes with the challenges of academia. You will work closely with our voice of the customer team to identify research problems, then collaborate with our operations and engineering teams to validate and deliver solutions that align with our expertise, mission, and business goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Voice of the Customer, user research, and product teams to identify customer problems
  • Work with engineering and design teams to prioritize testing and product backlogs
  • Collaborate with operations, design, and engineering to quickly test the value, usability, and feasibility of potential solutions
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on customer/decision-maker/end-user feedback and manage success and evolution of products in the marketplace.
  • Develop product collateral, including new feature presentations, sales documents, marketing materials, and be able to give product demonstrations to various stakeholder groups.
  • Initiate comprehensive assessments of academic research industry trends, assess competitor offerings, and work with various internal and external stakeholders to identify market needs 

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced Degree preferred

Experience

  • 2 plus years of experience as a product manager or experience in academia with an advance degree.  
  • An interest in interviewing academic authors from many different countries and areas of study
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to analyze data and clearly communicate data-driven decisions
  • The ability to work on a cross-functional team and enable alignment with stakeholders across the organization
  • Strong organization skills and an attention to detail
  • A focus on outcomes
  • A bias toward action

Working Arrangements 

  • Relocation is not required as this position can be remote based. 
  • This is a US based role.
