The Project Manager (PM)/Product Owner (PO) sets the benchmark for culture and performance leadership. The PM/PO is an exemplary model of RS culture and demonstrates the ability to hold team members across the organization accountable to project deliverables. The PM/PO possesses a deep understanding of the project management industry and will acquire an exceptional degree of institutional knowledge in project management and operations management at Research Square Company. The PM/PO uses his/her unique expertise to define and scope projects, assign, and manage resources around key deliverables, and coordinate across RSC Operations to achieve company goals. She/he helps to identify and develop talent within Research Square Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with leaders and stakeholders across the business to scope projects that are dependent on operations involvement, define project dependencies, and assign milestones to achieve deliverables on time. Projects include dependencies for operations, product development, product experimentation, private label services, marketing initiatives, and company and individual quarterly rocks.
  • Prioritizes the Delivery engineering backlog by working with stakeholders to plan task order according to priority and effectively communicates priorities, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Facilitates task planning, project retrospectives, and various project scoping and planning meetings. 
  • Keeps engineering and project roadmaps updated with evolving priorities and resource needs.
  • Partners with leaders as needed to apply project management and operations management expertise to service-specific priorities such as operational project investment tracking.
  • Uses high degree of autonomy and exceptional communication skills to coordinate people and costs around project deliverables and keep key stakeholders updated on project status.
  • Seeks new educational resources on project management best practices and teaches others at RS through active participation in the PM CoP and mentor for others managing projects at RS.
  • Leads team and Operations-wide initiatives to improve Research Square.

What you will

  • User-friendly project plans outlining individual responsibilities, dependencies, and milestones.
  • On-time projects to planned specifications.
  • Knowledge on project management from outside of RS through interactions with professional organizations, training, and independent research.
  • Demonstrated impact to improve core operational metrics.
  • Prioritized backlog containing well-scoped tasks with clearly defined acceptance criteria and points of contact.
  • Monthly Delivery engineering velocity and project cost breakdown reports.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or relevant experience. 
  • Has or is pursuing advanced training and/or certification in project management, PMP preferred.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience as a Project management, project coordination or business analysis preferred
  • Understanding of formal project management methodologies
  • High frequency of communication with stakeholders
  • Prompt response time and high availability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Working Arrangements

  • Relocation is not required as this position can be remote based. 
  • This is a US based role, all work to performed in the US.
