Job Summary 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Operations Manager will ensure marketing programs and platforms are optimized and measured. You will also be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and effective use of  technology systems that meet or exceed best practice, are aligned with sales, scalable, and ultimately provide an excellent customer experience while driving business growth.

Essential Functions 

  • Develop and evolve the strategy for success of the marketing automation platform and marketing technology systems with a focus on revenue generation through process and efficiency improvements in the sales and marketing funnel.
  • Lead the deployment, development, training, optimization, and maintenance of the marketing technology stack, in particular, Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Ensure marketing and sales team members are properly trained to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time, with clean and effective data measurement in place.
  • Manage cross-functional projects and relationships with product and operations teams and to ensure proper deployment, integration, and usage of marketing tech stack into other Research Square systems.
  • Own and execute the opt-in and compliance programs from an operational, strategic and implementation standpoint, and continually ensure compliance.
  • Own the strategy behind building and scaling strategic marketing automation workflows and programs for long-term effectiveness of systems while delegating out tasks to the marketing team.
  • Work with sales and marketing to establish and maintain scalable processes that ensure best practices in campaign and lead management for inbound and outbound marketing.
  • Work with the data analyst to ensure an accurate view of marketing performance, business contribution, and effectiveness of the attribution model.
  • Communicate strategy, results, and recommendations effectively to sales and marketing leadership.
  • Evaluate new technologies to improve and optimize marketing team performance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. 


  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience  
  • Master Degree in related field preferred, but not required 


  • 5 plus years of experience in executing highly effective marketing automation programs.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • A track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative cross-functional relationships and a demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and balance both short and long-term goals.
  • Data driven with strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to think in terms of LTV, ROI, and impact on the bottom line of the business.
  • Comfortable and energized operating in a fast-paced remote environment.

Work Environment  

  • Relocation is not required as this position can be remote based.  
  • This is a US based role.
